To celebrate HOW TO ESCAPE A PLAYDATE, I’m partnering with Macmillan and Brick and Mortar Books to offer free author visits to readers across the United States.
What is your author program?
My new program is called Escape the Playdate: A Choose Your Own Story Adventure. It works well for K-5, and it includes a read aloud, an interactive “escape the playdate” writing and drawing activity, and a Q&A. Students will leave knowing how to generate ideas and craft their own stories on the page. And all they’ll need is a paper and pencil.
How can schools participate?
Basically I took my normal honorarium and calculated the number of books it would buy. Instead of paying me, schools can use that money to purchase books for their wonderful kids (especially because studies show home libraries improve literacy rates significantly).

For 100 copies and if your school is within an hour of Kitsap County, WA, you’ll get a two session IN-PERSON author visit for your school. And you won’t have to pay for shipping, because I’ll bring the signed books with me.
